Graceland University Wins Robotic Competition with Two Hole-In-Ones

The Graceland University Robotics team of Oscar Chang and Aquila Galusha finished first at the Midwest Instruction and Computing Symposium (MICS) April 21 and 22 at the University of Northern Iowa. MICS is an annual conference on computing, attended by schools of all sizes, that includes presentations of topics and papers in addition to the robotics and programming contests.

Graceland University is Working to Dismantle Institutional Racism

Just as summer break was ending and faculty were returning to campus, several Graceland University departments collaborated and offered a workshop to all employees titled, “Moving to Dismantle Institutional Racism: Becoming a Transforming Community.” Nearly 80 faculty and staff members were in attendance for the workshop on Wednesday, Aug. 16, presented by Crossroads Antiracism Organizing and Training.

Graceland University Inaugural Poetry Day Rhymes With Success

This past spring, Graceland University launched a creative writing project in the Iowa-Missouri border region that brought Graceland University English majors together with local high school students to read, write, recite and discuss poetry. The campaign culminated in the university’s inaugural Poetry Day on April 7, in tribute to National Poetry Month.

Graceland University Welcomes Coach Craig Doty as Head Mens Basketball Coach

Graceland University is excited to announce the hiring of Craig Doty as Head Coach for the Graceland Men’s Basketball program. Doty officially began his coaching role with Graceland on Monday, May 16. He will maintain connections to his new team throughout the summer months and be actively recruiting for the 2016-17 season.

Graceland Students Receive Micro Scholarships for Internships From Alumni Donor

Graceland prides itself on an enormous level of alumni interaction and support, as there is constant work to provide opportunities to current students to better advance them both academically and professionally. Knowing the financial toll internships can require, an anonymous alumni donor recently provided $1,000 to go directly to students enrolled in internships.
