Many of the Village Health Workers are women who start their day at
4:30 a.m., walk long distances for the family's daily supply of water, build cooking fires, pound the grain, cook the
food, plant and tend crops - usually with a baby on their back - and still eagerly serve as volunteers in their villages.
Our Mission The Solution Join Us

Graceland University health care students and faculty travel to communities in need. There, mothers are provided with health education in basic nutrition, sanitation, first aid, oral rehydration therapy, and immunizations.

A Village Health Worker is appointed and empowered to continue the training of mothers. They also conduct monthly child and prenatal clinics throughout each region. In Zambia and the Congo, health workers have been sent through additional training to become traditional birth attendants so that mothers have access to care during labor and delivery.
