STUDENT ACTIVITY/MEMORIAL STUDENT CENTER FAQ’S
Q: How do I get involved in a club or organization?A: Contact the Student Activities Office for a comprehensive list of organizations on campus. The Student Activities staff will provide you with contact information which will enable you to contact sponsors and the leaders of different groups.
Q: How do I schedule a room?A: Students can schedule a room by logging on to the Graceland web site. By doing a search for
Campus Reservations, they may follow the link to the VEMS page. The VEMS page shows events in each building on campus. By selecting a specific building and date, a student knows right away whether a building or room is free for their request. Once the student sees the venue is free, he or she may make a request by clicking on the “Create an Account” button. Your account information is personal, an email address and password entered by the student. No other individual may access your account. Once an account has been created, a student can click on “Request Space,” follow the easy to read steps and submit a request. ALL requests will be processed within two business days. Once you have received confirmation, your room is scheduled. Plan ahead for easy scheduling for your events.
Q: Where can I fax something?A: Students can access the fax machine in the Student Activities Office with the help of the Switchboard Operator. Cover pages are free. Domestic faxes are $1.00 per page, $3.00 foreign. You must pay for your fax at the time of the transaction.
Q: Can I get change? Cash a check?A: Students can write checks for up to $5.00 and receive change from Switchboard. We also break bills $10 and under. We cannot break $20s. Checks up to $50 may be cashed at Info Central.
Q: Where can I check lost and found?A: Each building has its own lost and found. Often times, keys, wallets, cell phones or jewelry are brought to the Student Activities Office. Students that have lost an ID or other personal item could put a lost ad on Channel 45 in the Student Activities Office.
Q: Where can I post an ad or poster in the MSC? A: Students can bring ads and posters in to the Student Activities Office for signature approval. Once the sign has been approved, students may post them on bulletin boards in the MSC. Ads and flyers that are not pre-approved or are posted on the woodwork, windows or doors will be taken down.
