Personal Counseling

Students may receive assistance with problems that interfere with their academic and social life on campus through individual, group or couples counseling, crisis intervention, referral services, or brief problem-solving sessions. Staff is also available for presentations on topics such as: date/acquaintance rape, how to recognize and treat depression, eating disorders and other mental health issues.

When To Consider Counseling

  • If you have friends or family members in the areas of the tragedies.
  • If you have instrusive memories of previous loss, trauma, or crisis that you have faced.
  • If you are experiencing heightened feelings of anxiety, fear for your safety, or rage.  
  • If you are crying more than usual in response to sadness.
