Director of Media Relations
As Director of Media Relations, I try to spread the good word about Graceland University to local and regional news sources. I write stories, prepare press releases and arrange for coverage of special events on campus. I write the news and feature stories which appear on the Graceland website: www.graceland.edu
I am also editor of Horizons, the university's alumni magazine, which is published in Spring, Summer and Winter. The magazine is mailed to about 23,000 alumni and is available for online reading at our website.
I am a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. I have written for five newspapers over the years, including the Chicago Tribune and the International Herald-Tribune in Paris. I served as Prison Ombudsman for the Iowa Legislature in the 1980s. I enjoy writing fiction and have completed seven novels - though none have been published.
I am married to Graceland accounting professor Linda DeBarthe. We have two daughters, Nikky, who attends Lamoni High School, and Lily, who is 3 years old.
