Graceland Student Government Updates
GSG President
The role of the Student Government President is not only to be an advocate for the other branches of student government but also to take initiative on issues that do not directly apply to another organization. This year to date GSG has been able to accomplish many different projects and activities. In the fall GSG co-sponsored a project with Senate to redeisign and implement a patio/garden area that students are able to enjoy when the weather cooperates. This is located directly on the south side of the MSC-main entrance. Also Gsg and L.E.A.D. department co-sponsered a leadership conference that all GSG members attended in san Diego California. WIth the incredible assistance of Troy Hebblethwaite, Graceland Alumni, this experience was not only educational on leading campus organazations, but also was a great way for GSG to bond in the Fall. In the Spring GSG and L.E.A.D. worked together again to launch a National Society of Leadership and Success. Currently we have over forty members and seem to be growing every month. This society meets at least once a month to view a video conference of a nationally recognized leadership speaker. This opportunity is one that is new for our campus, however the society has hundreds of branches that span from coast to coast.
