Lab Services to General Students
The MicroLab is located on the lower level of the Frederick Madison Smith Library. The MicroLab has three Dell computer lab classrooms. The labs are available to all Graceland students when there is no class in session. There is a class schedule posted by each lab for the students' convenience. The lab hours are the same as the library. On the weekends and after 5:00 pm on week days, there is no attendant available for questions.
There is a scanner for students' use in PC Lab 2. The computers in PC Lab 3 have no floppy drives. We recommend students save their work on their H drive located on the server. CDs can be burned if a student wants to save files. A flash drive would be useful to carry info between lab computers and computers elsewhere.
There is a laser and color laser in the lab area for student use. The charge for the laser printer is $ .03 per page and the charge for the color laser is $ .15 per page. Printing from the lab runs through a database program which allows for the charging of each printed page. At the beginning of the academic school year, every student will have $3 placed in this database for their printing needs. The program will not allow students to print with a zero balance. A printer pay station is located near the printers for students to deposit additional funds into their printing accounts.
