Coordinated Graceland’s involvement in Training for State Review Team Members by IDE at Graceland in summer 2003 and presented.

training in summer of 2002. Letter of commendation is on file in Dean’s office.

Community and Church Service

Served on Children’s Resource Center for Community of Christ Peace Committee and chair of the
children’s literature peace library sub-committee. We received a grant and I selected books for the Temple Peace Library for Children. Developed resource materials to use with selected books. Presentations of the materials were given at the Graceland Peace Day and International Women’s Conference
Member of Delta Kappa Gamma (an honorary society for women teachers) and served as Vice
President from 1991 to 1995, presenting and coordinating several programs
Served on the Funshine Early Childhood Center Board from 1995 to 1998

implement federal reading grant from 2000 to 2002

TEACHING AND PROGRAM INNOVATIONS

  • Initiated 6 week student teaching experience in New Zealand. Two students plan to go in the spring of 2001. Three education faculty took the two students to Indianapolis on April 29, 30, 2000 to meet the New Zealand coordinator of student teaching
  • Supervise a new student office worker whose responsibility is to be a "Diversity Liason" to minority students on- and off-campus for the Education Department. Hopefully, her efforts will help meet the diversity accreditation standards for Iowa and NCATE.
  • Worked with the Iowa Department of Education to change the Graceland Early Childhood Endorsement from the Unified Endorsement to the PK-3 Endorsement.
