PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • Gasoline Graphics & Blink Creative- (1996-2007)
    I have freelanced over 10 years, working in print and website design for a variety of clients like: Crayola Kids Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens web-site, Ruan Transportation, Iowa Heart Center, Farm Bureau Insurance and many others.
  • Universal Systems & Technologies, Johnston, Iowa - Graphic Designer / Anima-tor (1997 - 1998)
    Develop user interface, 3d animations and 3d models for interactive cd roms. Managed a group of four graphic
    designers/animators. Included working under tight deadlines and project man-agement.
  • USWeb Des Moines, Des Moines, Iowa - Creative Director / Project Manager (1998 - 1999)
    Develop internet strategies for various clients. Includes: webpage design and layout, project management, site map creation and development of esti-mates.
  • garden.com, West Des Moines, Iowa - Assistant Art Director (1999 - 2001)
    Developed web site designs for, and maintained, the online magazine section of garden.com. Included working closely with writers, art directing photo shoots, creating digital designs and layouts as well as working under weekly deadlines. Also a part of these responsibilities were page layouts for the print magazine Garden Escape and other various promotional pieces.
  • Meredith Corporation, Des Moines, Iowa - Assistant Art Director (2001)
    Developed web site designs for, and maintained, BHG.com. Included working closely with writers and the art director, creating digital designs and layouts as well as working under weekly deadlines.
  • Relationship Marketing, West Des Moines, Iowa - Assistant Art Director (2001 - 2003)
    Created marketing materials for various clients. Included working closely with sales representative staff members and writers. Worked on projects for a variety of clients including Volvo, JCPenney, Sony and Southwest Bell Communications. Types of media created for these clients included Flash mov-ies, website designs, logos, packaging design, and the design of various direct mail pieces.
  • Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa - TA Instructor (2005-2006)
    Taught a 300 level course in 3d Modeling and Virtual Photography utilizing the software Cinema 4D. The class included a variety of students from all of the majors in the college of de-sign. This was a TA position but I was the sole instructor for the course.
  • Grand View College , Des Moines, Iowa - Adjunct (2006)
    Taught a 400 level course in advanced graphic design. The class included sen-ior graphic design students. Projects
    that were assigned were designed to give them a broad range of work for there portfolios. Projects included; illustrations, magazine layout design, collat-eral material design, logo design and high end advertisement design.
