SUBJECT:
Hiring and Compensating Temporary Employees
PURPOSE:
To assist Leaders with acquiring temporary assistance when needed.
POLICY:
Leaders will obtain the appropriate approval before they start the process and will notify Human Resources to determine whether a pool of applicants exists. PROCEDURE:
Human Resources will provide resumes of qualified applicants to the Leader.
Leaders will go through the selection process just as they do for open positions.
Pay for temporary workers will be based on the position and the skills needed; Human Resources will determine an equitable rate of pay.
It is the Leader’s responsibility to ensure that appropriate funds exist in their budget to pay the temporary worker.
