Administrators and Professionals Who Teach
PURPOSE:
To document a policy for administrators and professionals to teach courses
POLICY:
1. Persons not serving under the Faculty Personnel Policy may be asked or may volunteer to teach a Graceland University course(s).2. All persons responsible for instruction at Graceland University, regardless of the policy they serve under, must have the appropriate academic preparation, qualifications and credentials to teach a university-level course. The division/school will make that determination like they would for any adjunct hire.3. The supervisor of the administrator or professional must approve of this person teaching a course.4. There may be compensation for the administrator or professional for teaching a course. The instructor, the chair of the academic unit, and the dean of faculty must concur on the need for compensation.5. When there is compensation, the university-approved overload/adjunct schedule will determine the level of compensation.6. When there is compensation, division chairs or deans are responsible for processing the pay request through the k:drive as they are responsible for requesting pay for any overload or adjunct faculty.
