Refusal of Medical Assistance (S3)

SUBJECT:
Refusal of Medical Assistance

PURPOSE:
To delineate the university’s policy as it relates to students who refuse medical assistance when directed to do so by a university official.

POLICY:
If a student refuses medical assistance, the person(s) listed on the student’s emergency contact information will be notified informing that person that they need to come provide care and oversight for the student.

PROCEDURE:
If a student if judged by a university official to be in need of medical assistance and the student refuses aid, the Dean of Students will be contacted.

If the student still refuses aid, a parent or the person(s) listed on the student’s emergency contact information will be notified informing that person that they need to come provide care and oversight for the student.
