Theatre

Acting/Directing and Technical Theatre/Design are majors in Graceland University's Division of Fine Arts. Theatre majors develop creative skills, critical thinking and problem solving in an atmosphere that emphasizes knowledge and personal discipline. Studies include opportunities for theoretical and applied application in a broad background of theatre sub-disciplines: acting, directing, dramatic literature, lighting, set construction and design, and theatre history. The comprehensive curriculum includes courses such as Computers and Technology in the Theatre, Collaboration in the Theatre and Trends in the Contemporary Theatre. Theatre students at Graceland have many opportunities to develop their skills through intensive classwork in addition to practical work on University productions.
