Art: Studio

Love to draw? Does the feel of clay between your hands or the smell of turpentine get your creative juices going? Do you want to be able to turn your creativity and passion into a rewarding career? At Graceland, the studio art program is designed with just that idea in mind. Our courses stress the development of core skills and techniques as well as the principle of design. Emphasis is also placed on presentation and the development of ideas and form to produce fine artwork. In addition, studio and seminar courses provide students with knowledge of the contemporary art world and marketplace. These experiences, in combination with a liberal arts education, allow our students to successfully compete and survive in the visual arts.
