Director of Institutional Research

Graceland University is seeking a full-time, 12-month Director of Institutional Research on the Lamoni, Iowa, campus. This position is responsible for directing and coordinating institutional research services. They will work with various university leaders and units as well as off-campus constituents, including state/federal regulatory agencies, to ensure the integrity and validity of institution-wide data provided in support of policy and decision–making for all areas of the university. The director develops and administers data to inform systematic, broad-based and interrelated planning and assessment of processes for the educational, administrative and support activities of the university. They will also be charged with researching, identifying and providing information on potential assessment, outcome measures and benchmarking tools. The director provides support for annual and strategic planning, program review and new program implementation. They are responsible for all state approvals and compliance, ensuring the university has the right to offer programs in designated states. The director teaches one course per semester. 

QUALIFICATIONS: A master's degree is required. They must posess the ability to identify, create and use data for decision making, to assess risk level re: legal complications and vulnerability to legal and accreditation sanctions, problem-solve, and supervise/delegate to an assistant. Computer and system skills (especially report creation) are essential. The DIR must have the ability to understand and promote both qualitative and quantitative research processes and perform statistical data analysis. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary, along with the ability to establish rapport and engagement in university-wide strategic planning and assessment processes and decision making.
