Assistant Professor of Theatre/Scene Design

Graceland University is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Theatre/Scene Design on the Lamoni, IA campus beginning August 1, 2018.  The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching theatre and stagecraft as well as topics courses in the candidate’s area of interest.  This position provides basic scenic design/technical direction for all theatre productions.  Our theatre program is housed in one of the Midwest’s most impressive performing arts facilities and it includes both a mainstage and a black box theatre.  Additional responsibilities may include providing support for lighting design and supervision for sound design.  Opportunities to mentor students in and outside of class may include theatre trips and international travel.

Required qualifications include an MFA in Scenic Design or Technical Direction, a passion for stagecraft and for higher education, and a promise of excellence in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
