Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Graceland University seeks candidates for an entry level tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science/Information Technology on the Lamoni, IA campus.  Courses to be taught will include Web Programming (HTML/CSS, Java Script, etc.), Python, Data Structures, Computer Hardware and Networks, Introduction to Operating Systems (includes understanding of Linux), Information Security, and current technology classes.  Other duties include, but are not limited to advising students, serving on division and university committees, continued professional development, and service. We are looking for innovative applicants who can 1) help shape and grow the program and 2) have demonstrated teaching excellence and a collaborative and interdisciplinary commitment to undergraduate liberal arts.  The CSIT department is poised for growth with a generous $3M endowment that offers funding that 1) supports student-faculty extracurricular computing activities, trips, and projects, 2) supports 3-4 year replacement for CSIT computer workstations and equipment, 3) supports faculty development, 4) supports scholarships to attract great students.  Master’s required; Doctorate preferred.  Start date: August 2018.
