Assistant Professor of Nursing

Graceland University School of Nursing is seeking applications to fill full-time, 12-month contract Graduate Nursing Faculty positions on the Independence, Missouri, campus to begin Aug. 1 for the fall term. The positions are: Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Experienced Nurse Educator with advanced preparation in curriculum and instruction; Experienced Nurse Educator with advanced preparation in research and/or clinical scholarship.

The successful candidates will possess a master’s degree in nursing (MN, MSN), two years experience in clinical nursing, current license to practice professional nursing in Missouri and Iowa (current license in other states as required to supervise students in clinical rotations and/or additional approvals for advanced practice as required), academic preparation commensurate with the area in which they teach, on-campus presence as required to fulfill faculty responsibilities. Graduate online teaching experience and/or doctoral preparation (DNP or PhD) in nursing or a related field is preferred.

Faculty are expected to fully participate in the academic life of the institution by following expectations set forth in the University Faculty Personnel Policy and the School of Nursing Bylaws. Graduate nursing faculty serve under a 12-month contract that includes three 16-week trimesters per year. Faculty workload distribution (teaching, service, scholarship/practice) varies and is negotiated annually with the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs.

Assistant Professor of Theatre and Scene Design

Graceland University is seeking a full-time tenure-track faculty member with an emphasis in scene design and construction. MFA or PhD required beginning August 2016 in Lamoni, Iowa. The successful candidate will coordinate the technical aspects of the theatre program, design and supervise construction of productions, and teach in the department. Graceland’s theatre program is currently expanding and has extraordinary facilities, including a 600-seat proscenium auditorium, a state-of-the art black box theatre and an outdoor amphitheatre.

Assistant Professor of Graphic Design

Graceland University is seeking a full-time, nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor of Graphic Design and Visual Communication starting August 2016 in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts on the Lamoni, Iowa, campus. The ideal candidate is a designer and educator who possesses the ability to teach students in multiple levels from foundation to senior level courses with expertise in technical and digital skills, traditional and contemporary design practices. Candidates should be highly collaborative and show strong skills in communication, problem solving and are expected to contribute to the development of new curriculum. An MFA and a sincere commitment to undergraduate liberal arts teaching, scholarship and service are required.
