Tenure Track Scene Design Position

Graceland University is seeking a full-time tenure track faculty member with an emphasis in scene design and construction. M.F.A. or Ph.D. required. The successful candidate will coordinate the technical aspects of the theatre program, design and supervise construction of productions, and teach in the department. Graceland is liberal arts college in Lamoni, Iowa, with an enrollment of approximately 2300 students. Graceland’s theatre program is currently expanding and has extraordinary facilities, including a 600-seat proscenium auditorium, a state-of-the art black box theatre, and an outdoor amphitheatre.

Tenure Track Faculty Assistant Professor of Psychology 

Graceland University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology on the Lamoni, IA campus. This new position begins August 2014.
Specialty is open but Developmental and/or Applied Psychology (any area) would complement the Department's efforts.  Ideally, the candidate will be willing to experiment with teaching across a range of fields.
We would especially like to maintain and strengthen our presence in applied psychology: currently we offer, on a regular basis, elective courses in Health Psychology, Environmental Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and Psychology and Law.  Current faculty are active in teaching (including the scholarship of teaching), editorial work, and research: it is expected that the successful candidate will be similarly professionally active.

Essential for the position: experience in and creative engagement with undergraduate teaching in Psychology; willingness to take part in the inter-disciplinary first year experience course in critical thinking and other similar University-wide initiatives; willingness to provide online and blended instruction; affinity to cultural issues; ability to appreciate student diversity and capitalize on its strengths.  Ability to devise courses in methods and statistics for the behavioral sciences also desirable. 

Ph.D. required by August 2014.
