Russ Pieken is a nationally known consultant in the area of classroom effectiveness. He has been a classroom teacher and a principal in both the Independence, Missouri School District and the Blue Valley School District. Most recently he received a special recognition for his work with the Missouri Department of Education on "Project Success," where he served as a mentor to Missouri middle and high schools in a statewide effort to improve student proficiency in communication arts and mathematics. The school that Russ mentored won the award for most improved of all 25 participating schools.
