Community Outreach: definition and accomplishments

The role of community outreach coordinator is to be a liaison between the University and the hosting town of the University, Lamoni. One of the main projects of the Community Outreach coordinator is to assign community members to each house to act as house parents. This year all of the houses have house parents. In addition Karrin will be working to keep the lines of communication open between the house parents and the house presidents in hopes of improving the house parent program. The Bridge Endowment is another project which Community Outreach promotes. The Bridge Endowment consists of Houses and various other University organizations, completing community service projects in Lamoni. The projects are assessed by a committee and the projects with the greatest impact will receive cash prizes. In addition to the projects listed above Community Outreach will be expanding the business profiles for local businesses and making that information more accessible to the Graceland community.
