Text books are one of the biggest and most over looked costs of college. I recommend buying your own books rather than sharing with someone, because you never know when you’ll need it. Here are some helpful hints to save big bucks on text books.
1. Buy Used
This will save you hundreds of dollars. Go to a used bookstore, or save even more money by buying used books online. More often than not they’re in good condition.
2. Sharing is caring
If you have a friend who is in the same class as you, you can cut the costs by going in on the book together. But be careful because you never know when you might need to use the book, and your friend might have brought it somewhere.
3. The library
The library on campus has many of the textbooks available to use. Find out which of your classes’ books are at the hospital. They don’t have very many copies though so you never know when someone else might be using it.
You can get ebooks on a kindle, tablet, computer, or even a cell phone. Not all textbooks are available as ebooks, but ebooks are easier to carry around then a big heavy textbook. The downfall is that sometimes it’s hard to get to the page you want quickly.
