Lamoni, IA- On Saturday November 3 the Graceland University Women’s Volleyball team traveled to Springfield, MO to battle the Evangel Crusaders in the 2007 HAAC Conference tournament. The #7 seeded Jackets gave an impressive performance over the #2 seeded Crusaders, defeating them in 4 games 30-19, 30-32, 30-27, 30-25. The victory advances the Jackets to the next round where they will play the winner of the Benedictine-William Jewell match on Wednesday November 7 at a site to be determined. Senior Middle Hitter Jennifer Stone had an excellent day as she came up with 18 kills and 0 errors over 4 games.
“We had a nice serving match”, commented coach Stew McDole following the game. “Our girls really stepped up. We had great leadership from our seniors which helped fuel this win. Our team is excited to see who we play next.”
With that victory the Jackets overall record climbs to 17-15 for the season. Graceland will now travel to Liberty, MO for the second round of the HAAC tourney as they'll face William Jewell College Wednesday Nov. 7 at a time TBA.
