Springfield, MO- Following some difficult, under-achieving losses of late, Graceland had to travel to Springfield, Missouri Saturday for a match-up against the Evangel Crusaders. The Jackets would come away the victor in four, winning by scores of 28-30, 30-23, 30-23, and 30-15.
“This was a fairly dominating win for us considering Evangel was tied for second in conference play and was riding an eleven game winning streak,” Coach McDole said after the match. “We could have swept the match and had every opportunity to, but we let it slip away late in first game. Still, our play was much better today. Our serving was much improved today, and so was our defense. These were two major factors in the win,” McDole concluded with.
The Jackets now stand at 14-15 overall and 4-4 in the conference. After enjoying a fun couple of days in Branson, Missouri during fall break, the Jackets will head to Canton, Missouri on Tuesday for a 7:00 conference battle.
