Camille Soto Signing (9-04-07)

Lamoni, IA- The 2007 season is just around the corner for recently signed setter, Camille Soto, and her new Graceland team mates. Soto joins a cast of quality players who will change the look of Graceland Volleyball this fall.

Camille was a 5’5” setter for the Oxnard High School Yellow Jackets in Oxnard, California where she was a successful three sport athlete. Her Graceland plans include both volleyball and track where she is a thrower intending to help Coach Kent Allshouse in the Shot and Disc.

Soto was captain of her high school team three seasons starting with her Sophomore year. High school honors were abundant as she was First Team Pacific View All-League three years running and conference MVP both her Junior and Senior years. She was three times an All-Ventura County selection and twice chosen First Team. Her high school career was further noted when she was named the 2007 Oxnard High School Athlete of the Year and subsequently inducted into the Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame.

“Camille is the complete package, notes Head Coach Stew McDole. She is well trained, she is extremely physical and she has a great court personality. The setter plays the leader/quarterback role on a team and I believe Camille is ready for that role. She has played high level club where she has played for two Junior Olympic National Championship teams. She has made the commitments to allow her considerable talent to grow and evolve to college standards. Fortunately she continues to have great passion for the game. She will have a wonderful career here at Graceland. Camille will be fun to watch and fun to play with.

Soto is intending to study Athletic Training at Graceland where she will begin classes in September.

Camille is the daughter of Belia and Miguel Soto and the sister of Amy and Jared.
