Christy Gall Joins High School Teammate on Jackets
July 22, 2007
Lamoni, IA- Transitioning to college athletics can be a tough even for the most gifted athletes so it is always nice to have someone by your side that you already know and that is exactly the case for Christy Gall as she has signed a letter of intent to further her education and play volleyball at Graceland University this fall.
A high school teammate of fellow-Jackets signee Krystal Page, Gall brings her own set of talents and abilities to the GU campus when she begins her collegiate career this fall for head coach Stew McDole and the Yellowjackets. A versatile and talented player with the ability to handle multiple positions on the court, Gall hails from Osceola, Iowa out of Clarke Community High School.
Projected as a defensive specialist in the collegiate ranks, Gall stands at 5’8” and is a true athlete.

“Christy is an athlete pure and simple,” said veteran GU women’s volleyball coach Stew McDole. “She has and could play most any sport, but volleyball is on her screen. Small town Iowa doesn’t always offer the opportunities to pursue a sport you love, so Christy has trekked to Des Moines yearly for a junior club experience. Her high school and club experiences have helped propel her interest. She brings good size, quality technique, great intensity and strong physical tools to the court. She is a good match to Graceland Volleyball. We are looking forward to her contribution,” continued McDole.
Not only blessed with a desire to succeed, Gall has also been a dependable leader on and off the court as she was named her high school’s MVP and team captain. Based on her on-court performance, Gall was named to the All-Conference and All-District squads following her senior campaign.
Much like her high school teammate and future collegiate teammate in Page, Gall also competed on the Clark Community track team while appearing in the Iowa State Track Meet. While Page will pursue both volleyball and track and field while attending Graceland, Gall has decided to focus her attention just on the court this season.
An honor roll student and a member of FCA, Gall has been heavily involved in the club volleyball circuit by participating in high performance volleyball camps and the highly-acclaimed USA volleyball camps throughout the country.
Christy is the daughter of Rod and Dawn Gall. |
