
Program Goals:
1. Provide a comprehensive education program in athletic training that encompasses the domains of athletic training.
2. Provide quality classroom, clinical (laboratory), and internship experiences to students in the athletic training major.
3. Provide mentoring and an environment that encourages students to embody a spirit of pride and professionalism.
4. Prepare students to challenge and pass the BOC certification exam.
Program Objectives:
1. Athletic training major graduates will be competent in the NATA athletic training educational competencies demonstrated by successful completion of competencies within required classes. (Goal 1)
2. Athletic training major graduates will be competent in the NATA athletic training educational proficiencies demonstrated by meeting at least minimal standards on each of the proficiency exams. (Goal 1)
3. Faculty and clinical instructors will be committed to and capable of providing quality education to athletic training majors demonstrated through student evaluations for classroom and clinical instruction. (Goal 2).
4. Athletic training major graduates will be competent in the foundation behaviors of professional practice in athletic training demonstrated through clinical instructor evaluations. (Goal 3)
5. Athletic training major graduates will challenge the BOC certification exam within a year of graduation. (Goal 4)
