Yellowjacket Softball Signs First Recruit in Jaymi Crozier

Lamoni, IA- Head Coach Don Stopa is pleased to announce the first 2007-08 signing for the Yellowjacket softball program. Jaymi Crozier of Melcher-Dallas High School has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Jackets and coach Stopa is very excited with his first recruit of the year.
"Jaymi is a gifted softball player and a great athlete,” said Stopa. “She will fit in right away with this program.”
Crozier played behind the dish as a catcher and recently made the move to first base where she has been an all-conference, all-district, and honorable mention all-state player for two seasons. Jaymi will play her final season for the Saints this summer and she looks to have another great year for head coach, and father, Jim Crozier.
Crozier’s father and four uncles: Joe, Mark, Bruce and Mike all attended Graceland University, and played football, so Jaymi is following in the family tradition of Yellowjacket athletes. “It is tough to sign local athletes and even tougher to sign good ones; Jaymi is definitely both” said Stopa. Jaymi’s mother Lori is pleased that Jaymi has picked a school close to home and dad is really excited as she will be wearing the blue and gold in 2008.
While in high school, Jaymi made the Honor Roll, High Honor Roll and is a member of the National Honor Society. She also played basketball, track and volleyball while participating with the drill team, FBLA and youth camp.
Jaymi is the daughter of Jim and Lori…Granddaughter of Bill and Luetta Crozier, Jeanette Crozier; and Ken and Marilyn DeZwarte…Sister to Hayli and Lexi.
