Crawley Inks Papers to Join Graceland Softball Squad

Lamoni, IA- Head softball coach Don Stopa has announced his second signing for the 2007-2008 season by gaining the commitment of Cainsville High School product, Jill Crawley.
A dual-position threat for the Cainsville Redettes, Crawley has performed well as both a talented pitcher as well as a versatile outfielder. A native of Cainsville, Missouri, Crawley stands in at 5’6” and gives coach Stopa and the Yellowjacket program increased depth and versatility on the mound and in the outfield.
"I watched Jill play during the summer ball season and I was impressed by her play right away” said Stopa. The Yellowjacket’s third-year head coach went on to say, “adding a player of Jill’s abilities as well as her being another local product continues to strengthen our overall softball program”. An all-conference and all-district selection during her final two seasons at Cainsville, Crawley should be a valuable piece to the Jackets in the future. Crawley played her senior season for head coaches Kelli Goodale and Tim Harding while also competing for the Cainsville girl’s basketball team.
Not only a threat on the field, Crawley also excels in the classroom which is evidenced by her rank of third in her senior graduating class. Not limiting herself to athletics, Crawley has also been an active member in 4-H, French Club, FCCLA, and as a class officer.
Jill is the daughter of Kenneth and Barbara Crawley and has two siblings: Jo Gadberry and Jean Crawley.
