08-26-04 Kevin Allison Signs With Graceland Men’s Volleyball
Kevin Allison, from Elgin, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, during the 2004-05 school year.

Allison is a six-foot-two-inch outside hitter from Larkin High School. For the Royals, Allison was a four-year varsity player and unanimous all-conference his junior and senior years.

Allison also played club ball for Sports Performance. His 18-Mizuno team took fifth place at nationals in Austin, Texas in 2004, and his 17-Mizuno team placed fifth in the 2003 nationals in Phoenix, Ariz. In August of 2003, Allison was invited to attend the National High Performance Developmental Camp at Kent State in Texas, where he received the best attacker award. Allison was also listed on Volleyball Magazine’s Fab 50 list of the top 50 players in the country.

Kevin is the son of Jeff and Teri, and the brother to Matt and Katie. Kevin plans to major in athletic training at Graceland.
05-24-04 Kyle Gustafson Signs With GU Volleyball
Glenbard North High School’s Kyle Gustafson has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Graceland University beginning in the fall of 2004.

Gustafson, a six-foot tall setter for the Panthers, was the team MVP in 2003 and a captain in 2003-04. He was a DuPage Valley All-Conference selection in 2003.

Academically, “KG” was named to the Academic All-Conference Team in 2002 and 2003, received an academic letter and the Prairie State Achievement Award. Gustafson is also a member of National Honors Society and French Honors Society.

Kyle is active in club volleyball, where he played libero and setter for Sports Performance for five years. He also is the co-editor of the newspaper and is a Sunday School teacher.

Kyle is the son of Gary and Kim and the brother of Tyler. Kyle is undecided upon the academic course of study he will pursue at Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.
03-04-04 Isham Signs Letter of Intent
Blue Valley High School senior Austin Isham from Leawood, Kan. signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.

“Austin has the potential to be one of the best setters ever to play for the Graceland Yellowjackets,” says Coach Stu Sherman. “Austin represents what we at Graceland want in all of our athletes, but he also embodies what we want as a young adult off the court. Austin should have an immediate impact on the Yellowjacket program due to his thorough work ethic. He is a good kid and I look forward to coaching this young man.”

Austin is a six-foot-three-inch setter who played for the Mav’s, a USA juniors team from the Kansas City area. He is also a member of the Olathe Community of Christ congregation in Kansas.

Austin is the son of Rick and Sandy Isham, who are both Graceland alumni.
