Goalie Ortiz Named HAAC & Regional Player of the Week

Lamoni, IA-Graceland sophomore goalie Carlos Ortiz (Bogota, Columbia) made a clean sweep yesterday as player of the week. After being named POW at the conference and national levels Tuesday, Ortiz was named NAIA National Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Coming off of a shutout of NCAA division I opponent Western Illinois, Ortiz has now run his minutes of consecutive shutout soccer to 580 straight. His improvement throughout the year, as well as the great play by the defense of Graceland, is a huge factor in their undefeated season. The Jackets are trying to defend their 2006 National Championship and seem to be playing their best soccer of the season down the stretch.
