Graceland Continues Undefeated Streak

September 28, 2007

Fayette, MO-
The Jackets, after a long road trip on Wednesday for a conference game, hit the road again Friday night for their second conference matchup in three days. Graceland would leave Fayette with a 2-0 win over the Eagles. "Carlos (Ortiz) played a great game again tonight shutting out his second straight team," Coach Monroy said Friday night. "They came out (Central Methodist) with a great game plan and put everybody back on defense to prevent us from scoring. It worked for a while and they played well. We found a way though," Coach Monroy continued with. "Our guys were really tired from the last road trip but this is how the season goes, you just have to keep plugging away," Monroy concluded with. The Jackets would enter the locker room dead-locked at 0-0 but would score early in the second half as Eddie Edwards would find the back of the net on a nice assist from Filip Prostran. Graceland would score again in the 38th minute as Matt Iverson scored off an assist from Matt Klaus. That's how the game would end as the Jackets win their eighth in a row to run their record to 8-0-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference. The Jackets next play Saturday night, September 29th (Homecoming) at 7:00 pm.
