Rookie Day
April 16, 2004Graceland University hosted rookie day this weekend and had 30 prospective recruits spend the weekend on campus. The West Indies Soccer Club, from Ontario, Canada, came to Graceland Rookie Day as well as several from the Kansa City area.
Rookie Day is an opportunity for incoming players to audition and spend a weekend on campus to experience college life and practices as part of the men’s soccer team. The teams played inter-squad scrimmages, practiced together and had team bonding activities before departing for home early Sunday morning.
Team West Indies, very talented group of West Indian (Caribbean Islands) players, comprising the best talent from Toronto, Ontario, Canada went 1-1-1 on the weekend. They utilized Graceland’s facilities as part of their preseason preparation and training for their upcoming club season.
