The Graceland University men’s soccer team came back from a halftime deficit to beat the Missouri Southern Lions 2-1 on Wednesday night in Joplin, Mo.

After being down 0-1 in the first half, junior forward Kenny Baldwin, from Blue Springs, Mo., scored two goals to upend the Missouri Southern Lions 2-1.

The Jacket soccer teams host William Woods on Friday, September 5 at Rassmussen Field, with the women’s game at 5:00 p.m. and the men at 7:00 p.m.

Graceland VS Park University

Thank you for your support during tonight’s match between the Graceland Yellowjackets and the Park Pirates. We hope to fill your evening with an entertaining match of football. Park is coming off of a stellar 2002-2003 season which ended in a runner up finish in the NAIA National Championship game. The Pirates are currently ranked 14th in the NAIA national rankings are the preeminent program in the Midwest. The Yellowjackets are no strangers to excellence themselves. They capped off an exciting 2002 season with a trip to the regional finals, one game away from a National Tourney berth. The Yellowjackets are currently ranked in the top five in the Midwest Region for the upcoming season and have set a goal of breaking into the top 25 of the NAIA national rankings. --Coach Joseph

An exciting group of freshman led by Mid West Region Player of the Year Brett Loving (St. Joseph, MO) and Emilliano Gianna (Argentina) should provide you with tough tackles and exciting play in the midfield. Returning defenders Benny Waggenar (Canada) and Captain Edson Ortiz (Texas) will control and anchor the defense. All American Jesus Rodriguez is nursing an injury and may see limited time in tonights match up. However he scored the lone goal last year against Park and is always dangerous.
