The Yellowjackets traveled to Springfield, Mo., to take on the #14 in the nation Crusaders of Evangel University.

The Jackets opened the scoring with a 15 yard touchdown strike to wide receiver Dante Johnson from quarterback Tom Campos. Danny Laguna kicked the extra point and the Jackets were up 7-0 on the Crusaders. Evangel answered back with a 28 yard field goal before the end of the first quarter.

  The Yellowjackets, (2-2) will host the Eagles of Central Methodist College, (2-3) Saturday the 11th for homecoming. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.

 Graceland scored first in the second half on a 1 yard touchdown by Campos. The Jackets were now in striking distance of the favored Crusaders.

 Late in the third quarter Evangel quarterback Mitchell had a 10 yard romp into the end zone that was the final nail in the Jackets coffin. The teams traded touchdowns in the 4th quarter: running back Phillips for Evangel and another 1 yard touchdown by Campos.

In the end the Crusaders out ran the Jackets in rushing 230 to 93 yards, but Campos and crew edged Evangel in the air 271 to 234 yards. 

Defensive standouts for the Jackets were safety Ryan King and linebacker Joseph Butler who had 12 and 10 tackles respectively. Alan Linden got his second sack of the season while defensive backs Michael Richardson and Reggie Cox each had an interception.
