Graceland 35, Missouri Valley 22
Freshman running back Julius Strong scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to seal the 35-22 win over Missouri Valley Saturday afternoon in Marshall, Mo. The Jackets were down 22-6 at the half, but scored 29 unanswered points to beat the Vikings 35-22 on their homecoming day.
Offensively, running back Julius Strong scored two touchdowns with 21 rushes for 170 yards, and one reception for 11 yards. Quarterback Tommy Campos was 18-36 for 219 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. Running back Aaron Sharky had nine carries for 58 yards. Wide receiver Dante Johnson had eight receptions for 117 yards and one touchdown, while wide receiver Nick Terrazas caught four passes for 41 yards.
Defensively, defensive back Ryan King had 11 unassisted and six assisted tackles with one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Lamoni, Iowa native Brent DeLong had six tackles, two pass breakups, two tackles for a loss and one sack for a 12-yard loss. Defensive back Michael Richardson intercepted his fifth pass of the season and had three pass breakups. Defensive back Tony Ingram had nine tackles and Reggie Cox had eight tackles with one pass break up and one forced fumble.
The Graceland Yellowjackets host the NAIA’s sixth ranked team, MidAmerica Nazarene University, from Olathe, Kan. at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 25.
