Lamoni, IA-
With the season wrapped up and recruiting and signing season in full swing, Graceland University head baseball coach Brady McKillip has announced his second signing of the spring in junior college transfer, Samuel Felman.

Felman comes to the Graceland community after having played two seasons at Northeastern Oklahmoa A & M. An outfielder and designated hitter while at NEO, the Jackets look for Felman to step in right away and contribute to a team who is losing 11 seniors from its roster of 2007.

Standing at 6’1” and 195 pounds, Felman is a native of Ecuador and is now back in his home country until his arrival in Lamoni next fall.

“Sam gives us another strong arm in the outfield along with his speed,” said McKillip. “He has a great work ethic and has played in one of the toughest Junior College conferences for the last two years.”

While starting 29 games for NEO this past season, Felman tallied an impressive .376 batting average which ranked him third on the squad. Felman connected on 32 hits in 85 at-bats while registering eight doubles and two homeruns. He also drove in 11 runs and drew 12 walks on the season.

Not only a threat with a bat in his hands, Felman also proved to be a threat on the base-paths as he was able to steal eight bases while only being caught once.

While serving most of his time as the NEO designated-hitter, Felman did prove to be very strong in the outfield as well as he totaled a flawless season in the outfield, committing no errors to his credit.
