Chase Hitt Decides On Graceland for College Choice

May 17, 2007

Lamoni, IA-
With eleven seniors now departed from the Graceland University baseball team, head coach Brady McKillip and the Yellowjackets have the tall order of not only replacing a number of players in quantity but also in quality. McKillip has announced his first signing for the 2008 season in Truro, Iowa native, Chase Hitt.

An outfielder blessed with speed and athleticism, Hitt comes to Graceland after being named 1st-Team All-Conference in high school while playing in the Pride of Iowa Athletic Conference. A 2nd-Team All-District selection as well, Hitt led Truro with 25 RBI’s during his junior season while batting .405 with five double and two triples.

Not only a threat at the plate, Hitt has used his quickness to play a steady outfield as evidenced by his .942 fielding percentage.

McKillip, a former Yellowjacket standout himself, was thrilled to bring on a player the caliber of Hitt. “We are excited to have Chase sign with us,” said the Jacket’s seventh-year skipper. “He brings a lot of speed to our outfield as well as being a great kid off the field,” continued McKillip.
