Matt Proctor: Catchers
Office Phone: 641-784-5351

Matt Proctor enters his first season with the Graceland University baseball team this year as he finishes up his degree.  The team MVP from 2007, Proctor brings a wealth of experience to head coach Brady McKillip's staff. A native of Barrie, Ontario, Proctor is in charge of the catchers and will be heavily involved in the pitching staff. Proctor joins GU's coaching staff after being a four year starter for coach McKillip and the Jackets.  "Matt is an excellent addition to our staff, he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience at the catching position to our team."

As a senior in 2007, Matt was voted as the Team MVP for Jackets after hitting .336 with 11 doubles and 32 RBI's ranking fourth, third and second on the team respectively.  More important than his offensive stats was his ability to lead the Jackets on the field defensively as they finished the year 25th in the nation in fielding percentage.  As the catcher, Proctor was also a big reason the Jackets staff posted 8 complete games and 3 shutouts on the year.

Over his playing career, Proctor led the pitching staff to 30 complete games, 11 shutouts and 6.2 strikeouts per 9 innings while amassing a .978 fielding percentage and throwing out 31% of baserunners against him.
