Lamoni, IA-The Graceland soccer men were defeated 0-2 at home against the Lions of Lindenwood. The Jackets played an altogether solid game, but were unable to penetrate Lindenwood's defense despite taking 10 shots on goal.
The Lions' attack was of excellent quality for the evening, and Lindenwood managed to match the GU side almost shot for shot on goal, taking 7, 2 of which found the net. Senior forward Jeffrey Darwah (Brampton, ON) led GU with 3 shots on goal coming off of the bench, while seven Jackets each added one of their own.
Both Lindenwood goals came in the first half, in the 24th and 41st minutes respectively, each a result of brief openings in the otherwise fine Graceland defensive line.
Graceland now stands at 9-6-0 overall and 5-3 in HAAC play. Next up, the Jackets will face Baker University in Baldwin City, KS on Tuesday, November 3rd. That game is slated to begin at 7pm.
