Springfield, MO-The Graceland women's volleyball traveled to Springfield, Missouri Saturday evening for a big conference matchup. After Tuesday nights big win over MidAmerica Nazarene, the Yellowjackets look like a lock for the conference tournament but need more wins to continue to improve their seeding. Saturday they took a big step in that direction. Graceland defeated a stingy Evangel Crusaders team in 4 by scores of, 15-25, 25-21, 26-24 and 25-19.
The Jackets got very strong play at the net and had much improved serving in the win.
"Honestly, a clutch team effort on the road," stated Coach McDole from Springfield. "We were the decided underdog but once we got through game one, we played with confidence. What a critical team win for us," finished Coach McDole.
The Jackets now stand at 15-12 overall and 4-5 in HAAC play. They'll have the opportunity to finish the conference season at .500 Tuesday night when they'll host the Avila University Eagles. Tuesday nights match will be senior night and the final home game of the season. The match is slated to begin at 7:30 pm.
