Canton, MO-The Graceland women's volleyball team was defeated three games to nil Tuesday night in Canton, Missouri. The Jackets, still in the midst of their almost month-long road campaign, fall to 2-5 in Heart of America Conference play, but remain 13-8 on the season thus far.
The GU side could not get their attack going, and as the evening progressed the Wildcats only seemed to get stronger as they smelled Graceland blood in their home territory.
The first and third game were competitive 21-25 contests, but the Jackets could not summon the offensive fortitude to wrest either game away from Culver-Stockton. The second game, at 15-25, was somewhat more lopsided as the Wildcats pushed Graceland as they tried to regroup after a close loss in the first game. The Jackets recovered some of their fire for the third game, but were unable to wrest the momentum away from the home side.
Graceland will next travel to the Lindenwood Invitational Tourney in St. Charles, Missouri this weekend, Friday and Saturday, October 16th and 17th respectively. The Jackets will take four matches at Lindenwood, so stay tuned to the Graceland athletics website for coverage of the tourney, as well as continuing coverage of women's volleyball and all of Jacket athletics.
