Lamoni, IA-The women's volleyball team opened conference play at home Tuesday night against Missouri Valley. Coming off of their 2-2 outing over the weekend in the HAAC Preseason Tournament, Graceland has high hopes for the 2009 season. Tuesday night the Jackets got a great jump start on that defeating the Vikings in four by scores of 25-18, 25-16, 24-26 & 25-18. Graceland executed the fundamentals well tonight both attacking the net and on the back line.
"It's nice to start the HAAC season with a win over a quality team," stated Coach McDole after the match. "It's great to open with a crowd like that as well! They got to see major glimpses of a team that has the potential to be really strong. It should be a fun ride," concluded Coach McDole.
The win sends the Jackets overall record to 3-2 and 1-0 in HAAC play. Graceland next plays Tuesday September, 8th in Lamoni at 7pm. Stay tuned to the Jacket athletics website for continuing coverage of the women's volleyball team and all of Jacket athletics.
