Lamoni, IA-Coach Fred Wagenaar is happy to introduce Olyvia Gaytan, Graceland's newest signing to the Graceland Women's Yellowjacket soccer team. Olyvia is from Council Bluffs, Iowa, where she graduated from Lewis Central High School. She has attended the University of Texas at Brownsville, and wants to finish her education and soccer career at Graceland. Olyvia is intending to put her concentrations on a nursing career.
Wagenaar said of Olyvia, "Olyvia Gaytan brings a lot of experience to our team. It can be a very positive element to have the experience and maturity that Olyvia brings with her. When a player gets to her senior year, the realization sets in that their university career is drawing to a close, so the efforts and dedication to the game tend to increase. She is determined to play the best soccer of her life here at Graceland, and I believe the team will reap the benefits of that new commitment." Wagenaar continued, "I am very much looking forward to the upcoming season, as I feel we have exciting new players coming that will further increase the depth of an already wonderful team. I wish it were August already."
