Lansing, KS-Kansas All-State big man Cody Rush of Lansing, Kansas was a recruit the men's team had targeted for a while. Needless to say, when they were able to sign him to the 2009-2010 squad earlier this week it instantly made the team better.
Rush stands 6'8" tall and weighs 250 pounds and will be a load inside for other HAAC teams to defend. His addition, along with the returning Jacket players and the guards that Coach Hamilton and his staff have added this offseason, Graceland is looking to make their way back up the HAAC standings.
Pictured left (back row left to right) are Rush's high school basketball coaches, Graceland Head Coach Jeff Hamilton and Assistant Coach Brad Matney. Rush, pictured center front, is with his parents Tony and Barbara Rush.
"Cody is a dominating big man who demands attention with his size, strength and skill," remarked Coach Hamilton. "Cody has the ability to be one of the top centers in the HAAC. He can shoot the three, put it on the floor, get to the rim and can finish in the paint with nice touch. With Cody in the lineup our interior becomes very deep," finished Hamilton.
Graceland is excited about getting Cody on campus next fall and congratulates him on an excellent college choice!
