Lamoni, IA-The Graceland softball team is finishing their season with a flurry of makeup games. Facing Baker today, game one was a broken record for Graceland as they scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to take a 4-2 lead heading into the seventh inning. The Jackets however, as they've struggled with all year, gave up four unearned runs in the top of the seventh and lost game one, 6-4.
In game two Graceland was finally able to break their slump in a big way. The Jackets jumped all over Baker as the led off the first with a solo shot by Bryn Degraw (St. Albert, Alberta) followed by a grandslam by sophomore Caitlin Proudfoot (St. Charles, IA). In all Graceland scored 9 runs in the first inning and is currently leading 9-0 in the top of second. The Jackets wouldn't look back winning in dominating fashion 13-2. Full stats are attached.
Graceland now stands at 7-26 overall and 3-13 in HAAC play. The Jackets will host Benedictine College in Lamoni this Tuesday at 2pm. Stay tuned to the Jacket athletics website for continuing coverage of the Graceland softball team and all of Jacket athletics.
