Lamoni, IA-The Graceland men's and women's tennis teams had their conference home openers Friday afternoon in Lamoni.
The #9 ranked men's team continued their strong play dominating rival William Jewell 8-1. The women, who are very young this season, lost to conference leader Jewell 5-4 in a very tight battle.
"I was really proud of both teams," stated Coach Hampton following the matches. "The women played really well against probably the team to beat in the HAAC this year. As they continue forward I think you'll see these two teams battling out for the top spot and into the conference touranment," concluded Hampton.
Both Jacket teams will be back in action tomorrow at Missouri Valley College beginning at 10:30 am. Then, they will host Lindenwood University on Sunday at the McKain Tennis Complex.
