Lamoni, IA-The Graceland baseball is trying to make a push in the final 10 days of the season towards the HAAC post-season tournament. Tuesday afternoon they finally had some good weather in Lamoni and the Jackets hosted Evangel University at new Chase Stadium.
Game one saw the Jackets get an outstanding pitching performance from Koa Kaleo (Pearl City, HI) as he shutout the Crusaders in the Jackets 1-0 victory. Graceland's lone RBI came from freshman Brian Cole (Los Fresnos, TX) as he picked up his first collegiate hit in a clutch situation for the Jackets. In game two Evangel jumped out to an early 3-0 start backed by a two out rally in the second and never looked back earning the split with Graceland, 5-2.
The Jackets now stand at 10-25 overall and 8-18 in HAAC play. Graceland will head to Atchison, Kansas tomorrow to face the Benedictine Ravens in a 1pm double header. Stay tuned to the Jacket athletics website for continuing coverage of the baseball team and all of Jacket athletics.
