Box Game 1 | Box Game 2
Lamoni, IA-It was a frustrating day for the Jackets in their home opener at their newly renovated park. In game one, Graceland took a 6-3 lead into the seventh inning against Haskell Indian Nations but were unable to hold it as the Indians scored three to tie. In the eighth, Haskell smacked a two runner homer to cap off the comeback and an 8-6 win.
Game two wasn't any kinder to the Jackets. Runs became tough to come by as the temperature dropped and the Jackets fell 5-1. Statistics are not yet available but will be posted as soon as they are received.
Graceland now stands at 6-15 overall and 2-2 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. The Jackets are in Lamoni this Friday afternoon as they'll play a conference double header with Central Methodist University (Fayette, MO). Stay tuned to the Jacket athletics website for continuing coverage of the softball team and all of Jacket athletics.
