Marshall, MO-The men's volleyball team was back on the road Tuesday afternoon facing conference foe Missouri Valley. At the time of release, full stats were not available but the Jackets did win the contest in 5. When stats are available they will be posted.
"We are really excited about our win vs Missouri Valley College," stated Coach McDole following the match. "Senior Kevin Allison had a GREAT match! Kevin was a big part of our succes the entire match. Midway into the 2nd set our senior middles Steve Hennings and Joe Klien started to connect with senior setter Austin Isham which set up our success for the rest of the match. After establishing the middle attack the rest of our game took off. We got freshman right side Andres Quinones more involved in the 3rd set along with Kevin Allison and we were unstoppable at both sides of the net," continued McDole. "In my mind we really controlled the match after the 2nd set. We let the 2nd set slip away with errors, but regained control and finished the match in 5 sets. Our veteran core was a big reason for our success, we were more confortable in each set no matter what the score, we played loose with confidence. It was a fun match to watch and be a part of. We showed great maturity as a team early in the season," finished McDole.
The Jackets will head to St. Charles, MO this weekend for the Lindenwood tournament. Check back for score and summary. Stay tuned to the Jacket athletics website for continuing coverage of the men's volleyball team and all of Jacket athletics.
