Lamoni, IA-The men's basketball team was in Lamoni Thursday evening in action against rival William Jewell. In their second matchup with the Cardinals of the season, Graceland played right with William Jewell in the first half trailing 37-33 at the half. The second half however William Jewell (16-5, 9-2) turned it on and pulled away from the Jackets cruising to a 90-60 victory.
Graceland was paced by senior Simon Morefield (Independence, MO) who was the only Jacket in double figures scoring 15. Stevan Trisic (Belgrade, Serbia) had 8, Jewel Carter (Kansas City, KS) had 7 and three others added 6 in the loss.
The Jackets now stand at 5-16 overall and 2-9 in conference play. Graceland will head to Springfield, MO Saturday afternoon for a 4pm game with the Evangel Crusaders. Stay tuned to the Jacket athletics website for continuing coverage on the men's basketball team and all of Jacket athletics.
